Síðsti vanligi skúladagur hjá framhaldsdeildini

Mikudagin 13. mai verður síðsti vanligi skúladagur hjá framhaldsdeildini og skipar tí 9. flokkur fyri einum øðrvísi skúladegi, har tey skipa fyri ymiskum tiltøkum fyri næmingum og lærarum.
Allir næmingar møta sum vanligt í skúlanum kl. 08.00 og er vanlig skúlagongd tveir teir fyrstu tímarnar.
Kl. 9.30 hittast vit í høllini og síðan verður farið út í nærumhvørvið at spæla kondibingo.
Næmingar verða biðnir um at hava matpakka við og verður ein lítil matarsteðgur, frá kl. 10.30 til 10.45, har næmingar eisini fáa sunkist og kaku.
Síðan verður farið í høllina í Tofta skúla, har vinnarin av kondibingo verður kunngjørdur. Síðan verður flogbóltsdystur millum næmingar og lærarar.
Dagurin endar kl. 11.30.
Tað er umráðandi at vera ílatin eftir veðrinum.

Wednesday 13 May will be the last regular school day at the upper secondary school and therefore the 9th grade is organizing a different school day, where they organize various events for students and teachers.
All students meet as usual at school at 08.00 o'clock and are having classes as usial for the first two hours.
At 9.30 we meet in the hall and then we go out into the surrounding area to play bingo.

Students bring packed lunches and there will be a lunch break as usual, from 10.30 to 10.45, where students also get sunkist and cake.
Then we will go to the hall in Tofta school, where the winner of the "outside bingo" will be announced. Then there will be a volleyball match between students and teachers.
The day ends at 11.30.
It is important to dress for the weather.

Vit lesa frílesing

Nú fara vit at royna nakað nýtt, tá ið vit lesa frílesing. Børnini hava fingið eitt skjal í bókalumman, har tey skulu skráseta bøkurnar, sum tey hava í bókalummanum. Tá ið tey hava lisið bókina, skulu tey venja eitt petti heima, 3-5 reglur at lesa upp fyri læraranum. Tá ið tey hava gjørt tað, og vit lærarar meta, at næmingurin lesur bókina nóg væl, kunnu tey læna eina nýggja bók.

Tá ið tey hava skrásett fýra bøkur, sleppa tey at velja eitt klistrimerki at seta niðast á skjalið. Síðani fáa tey eitt nýtt skjal til tær næstu fýra bøkurnar. Børnini kunnu skráseta eina bók ella fleiri bøkur um vikuna, og um bókin hevur nógvar síður, kunnu tey brúka fleiri vikur um somu bók.

Tit foreldur fylgja við og lurta og hjálpa børnunum at lesa til hósdag; til ber at lesa fleiri ferðir um vikuna. Summi børn megna at venja alla bókina í senn, meðan onnur bara skulu venja eitt brot úr bókini hvørja ferð. Sostatt verða tað nøkur, sum skifta bók ofta, og onnur, sum hava somu bók longur enn hini. 

Børnini kunnu framvegis hava tríggjar bókasavnsbøkur heima í senn, eina hava tey at lesa í bókalummanum, og hinar kunnu vera myndabøkur ella bøkur, sum tey vaksnu kunnu lesa upp.

Library books

Now we are going to try something new when we read the books that we borrow from the library. The children have received a document in their bookcase, where they must register the books they have in their bookcase. After reading the book, they practice a passage at home, 3-5 lines to read aloud to the teacher. When they have done so, and we teachers think that the student is reading the book well enough, they can borrow a new book.

Once they have registered four books, they get to choose a sticker to put at the bottom of the document. Then they get a new document for the next four books. The children can register one book or more per week, and if the book has many pages, they can spend several weeks on the same book.

You parents follow and listen and help the children read for Thursdays; They can read several times a week. Some children are able to practice the whole book at once, while others only have to practice one passage from the book at a time. So there will be some who change books often, and others who have the same book longer than the others.

The children can still have three library books at home at a time, one for them to read in their bookcase, and the others can be picture books or books that adults can read aloud.

Lús og aðrir smittandi tilburðir (English below)

Tað kemur av og fyri, at børn fáa lýs, barnaorm ella skrubb, og tá er týdningarmikið, at tit kunna skúlan um tilburðin, fyri at vit kunnu bera boðini víðari, so øll kunnu hjálpa til at avmarka smittuna.

Allar fráboðanir verða viðgjørdar í trúnaði, so sagt verður einki um, hvør næmingur er smittaður, ella í hvørjum flokki viðkomandi gongur. 

Lice and other infectious diseases

It happens from time to time that children get lice, pinworm or scabies, and then it is important that you inform the school about the incident, so that we can pass on the message, so that everyone can help limit the infection.

You can tell the class teachers or call or write to the management.
